Music, culture, and society

I am passionate about music. I play piano, organ, and synthesizers in various projects, including (progressive) rock/blues and (experimental) contemporary jazz and fusion.

I believe in culture as a form of progress of human life on earth; I read a lot and try to promote a thoughtful attitude to life. On the scientific side, I am concerned about futurism and social consequences of technologies, as well as in sustainable and joyful lifestyle which I consider an universal right.

I am available for dissemination and educational events about ICT and its social and ethical implications, including autonomous systems/algorithms and artificial intelligence. This is aimed at increasing awareness on this topic by promoting seminars, public debates, meeting with students at schools, etc. Feel free to contact me for any information and to promote joint initiatives. m

About Lecce and Salento

The University of Salento is based in Lecce, in the so-called "Salento" area, which is the most south-eastern part of Italy and administratively belongs to the Puglia (Apulia) region. It is a sub-peninsula of the Italian Peninsula, sometimes described as the "heel" of the Italian "boot".

Have a look at the New York Times article and photo gallery and feel free to contact me if you want to be a visiting scholar.
